Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily inspect failure and defective points in a magnetostriction torque sensor by inspecting the function of a signal process circuit through the output obtained at the time of running a dc current of known value from a constant current circuit to an output signal line. CONSTITUTION:Resistances RC1, RC2 are provided in series on detection coils 5, 6, while a constant current circuit 23 is connected to the output side of the resistance RC1 through a contact line 21 and an inspection switch 22. When the switch 22 is closed while no torque is applied to a torque transmission shaft 1, a current of known value runs in one output signal line, and when there is no abnormality in a signal process circuit composed of each circuit device, the corresponding output appears in a terminal 14. When there appears no initial output, it is judged that there is a failure in the circuit. Since a constant current from the circuit 23 is utilized, voltage for inspection, i.e., unbalanced DC voltage is not changed by the change in excitation voltage due to an excitation power source, and by the change in torque detection voltage due to the change in the characteristic of a sensor, accurate inspection can be carried out.
