Abstract:
PURPOSE: To identify the type and characteristic of a generating device by arranging a memory device within a battery, and a microprocessor within a charger, respectively. CONSTITUTION: A battery 17 of a rechargeable electrochemical generating device is connected to a charger 20. The charger 20 has a current-regulating module 22 and a microprocessor 21, using the information contained in a memory device 2 within the battery 17., The memory device 2 has a ROM 6 for storing identifiable data of the generating device and a RAM 7 for storing data related to the functional operation and state of the generating device. The microprocessor 21 of the charger 20 periodically measures the instantaneous capacity, and transfers it to the RAM 7, and judges the kind of generating device on the basis of the data inside the ROM 6.
