An area including the infrared absorption print area is irradiated with a beam including an infrared ray from a vertical direction by the first illumination means. The area including the infrared absorption print area is irradiated by the second illumination means with the beam including the infrared ray from a direction having a prescribed angle with respect to the vertical direction wherein the beam is irradiated from the first illumination means, and image data of the area including the infrared absorption print area are acquired aiming at a wavelength in an infrared light region by an imaging means. Reference infrared absorption print area image data or the like in a reference infrared region are stored beforehand by a storage means, and the image data are compared with the reference infrared absorption print area image data or the like, and the quality of at least one of the shape, the area and the position of the infrared absorption print area is determined based on the comparison result by an image processing means.
