Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily confirm whether the screwing length between a base rod and an adjust rod can keep a necessary strength by forming the adjust rod of the captioned device in a stepped form and screwing a lock not over its small diameter part. CONSTITUTION:In a hydraulic buffer 20 of a motorcycle, a piston rod 26 is screwed in and fixed to one end of a base rod 28, and an adjust rod 34 which is integrally formed with an installing bracket 24 is screwed into a hexagon nut part 32 provided on the other end of the base rod 28 and tightened by a lock nut 38. In this case, the diameter of the adjust rod 34 is made steppedly smaller toward the installing bracket 24 side and the lock nut 38 is screwed on this small diameter part, restraining the moving range of the lock nut 38 by this small diameter part. Also, the large diameter part of the adjust rod 34 is set to a length with which required strength is obtained, between the part and the base rod 28 to maintain a required strength when the whole of the large diameter part is screwed into the threaded bore 30 of the base rod 28.
