To provide a post-foaming detergent useful for a foaming cleaner, hair goods and the like, by using a composition comprising surfactants, a volatile hydrocarbon, water and polyethylene glycol ether of polypropylene glycol oleate.

A post-foaming detergent, which is a clear foaming solution or gel, is provided by compounding a surfactant system which consists of a primary surfactant selected from among an alkyl ether sulfate and an amine oxide and a secondary surfactant arbitrarily selected from amphoteric surfactants, a volatile hydrocarbon system, water, and polyethylene glycol ether of polypropylene glycol oleate in such an amount that it can dissolve in the volatile hydrocarbon system. A secondary surfactant can be added as a foaming aid in an amount of 0 to about 20wt.%. Examples of the secondary surfactant include an imidazoline, a sultone and a betaine. The volatile hydrocarbon is a gaseous foaming agent which affords plentiful foaming and is n-pentape, n-butane or the like.
