PURPOSE: To enable detection of an unfinished flare part by arranging a restraining part to a rod fitting a buret following to the flare part to be formed at a heat transfer pipe end.
CONSTITUTION: At the upper end of the rod 12 fitting the buret 10 having shape following to the inner shape of the flare part 11a before forming at the lower end, a fitting plate 22 is arranged so as to be possible to reciprocate and the restraining part 16 is arranged so that this plate 22 can shift to a back surface direction. Then, at the time of shifting the fitting plate 22 so that the buret 10 restrained on the fitting plate 22 by the restraining part 16 can invade into the flare part formed at the end part of the heat transfer pipe, position of the material, to be detected of a projection 15, etc., arranged on the way of the rod 12 is detected. By this method, the unfinishing flare part 11b to be formed at the end part of the heat transfer pipe can automatically be detected.
