To measure the profile of damage in a furnace wall at high precision.
This instrument has the constitution provided with a measuring part 5 loading a sensor head, a swinging part 6 provided at the upper part of the measuring part 5 and swinging the measuring part 5 on the same horizontal plane, a reference sensor part for measuring the inclination and the inserting depth of the measuring part 5 in the furnace, an elevating device 8 for hanging and elevating/lowering the swinging part 6 and the measuring part 5 to a prescribed position in the furnace, and a data processing device arranged out of the furnace and processing and operating the measured data obtained from the measuring part 5 and the reference sensor part as well as the measured data from the swing angle of the swinging part 6. The elevating/lowering movement with the elevating device 8 and the swing movement with the swing part 6 are combined to measure the profile of the furnace wall in the arbitrary vertical and circular direction in the inner wall of the furnace.
