Abstract:

To accurately detect the rotation abnormality of the roll arranged in a continuous-casting facility.

The roll-rotation abnormality detecting instrument 30 for detecting the rotation abnormality of the rolls 14 in the continuous-casting facility is provided with: a first roll abutting surface 71 for abutting on the roll 13; a second roll abutting surface 72 for abutting on the roll 14; an abutting surface energizing member 45 for energizing so as to mutually separate the first roll abutting surface 71 and the second roll abutting surface 72; and a friction force detecting mechanism 51 for detecting the friction force loaded in the direction along the passing-through direction D1 to the second roll abutting surface 72. The first roll abutting surface 71 can simultaneously be abutted to the two rolls 13 set side by side, and the second roll abutting surface 72 can simultaneously be abutted to two rolls 14 set side by side.
