To provide an instrument panel structure advantageous in selective applicability to miniaturization of a passenger seat airbag and its mounting structure, expansion of storage spaces and no specifications of an airbag.
The instrument panel structure includes: an instrument panel body (1) including a main panel surface (11) and a top surface (12); a steering support member (2) that extends inside the panel body to the vehicle width direction; and an opening (3) that is defined at an intermediate position in the vertical direction facing the passenger seat of the main panel surface, and can mount an airbag module (31) that is expandable to the backward or the diagonal backward in the inside. Article storage parts (4, 40) are provided at the part from the main panel surface in the upper part of the opening to the top surface. The opening is defined by being recessed to an internal side of the instrument panel body to a main panel surface, and the picture, and a reinforcing frame (13) of cross sectional L character or a cross sectional U shape character is formed in the surroundings.
