Abstract:
To accurately perform the compression test of a fine linear sample.
Opposed holes 10, 12 are formed on the central parts of upper and lower grippers 6, 7. The line connecting the holes 10, 12 is set so as to coincide with the direction A of load. When a fine wire sample S is inserted in these holes to be fixed by fixing screws 9, 11, the longitudinal direction of the sample S coincides with the direction A of load. When force is applied in the direction shown by an arrow A, the fine wire sample S is bent and buckled on the way at one time. The load value at this time is set as buckling strength.
