The instrument comprises: an input circuit 3 that inputs vehicle information as an electric signal and is provided with a resistor connected to light sources 1c and 1d regarding this vehicle information; an electric potential adjusting circuit 4 that adjusts the potential of wiring 4c between the light sources 1c or 1d and the input circuit 3 on the basis of a control signal from control means 2 and invalidates the influences of the vehicle information on the light sources 1c and 1d; and a light source control circuit 5 that, when the invalidation by the electric potential adjusting circuit 4 is accomplished, takes an action for aesthetic effectiveness by controlling the turning on and off of the light sources 1c and 1d on the basis of the control signal from the control means 2.
