Abstract:
To provide a thermal insulation material charging device and a thermal insulation material charging method capable of distributing a thermal insulation material in a granular state in a wide area in a container accommodating molten metal.SOLUTION: A thermal insulation material charging device 1 supplies a thermal insulation material T to a molten metal container 90 in which molten metal M is accommodated. The thermal insulation material charging device 1 has: a housing portion 10 that accommodates the thermal insulation material T composed of powder materials in a granular state; and an opening and closing bottom portion 11 that is provided as an opening and closing bottom surface of the housing portion 10 and can be brought into an open state in a state where the housing portion 10 is disposed above the molten metal container. In addition, in the thermal insulation material charging method, the granular thermal insulation material T is charged into the molten metal container 90 in which the molten metal M is accommodated by using the thermal insulation material charging device 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
