Title:
INSULATION ELECTRIC TERMINAL AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2552232
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the break of an insulated conductor even in a high vibration environment by disposing a complementary mutual engage means between the insulation crimp ferrule of a wire and the crimp portion of the insulated conductor terminal, and crimping and fixing the crimp ferrule or the crimp portion.
CONSTITUTION: An insulation wire in which the exposed end or the stripped end of an insulated conductor protrudes from an insulation coat portion is inserted into the crimp portion 30 of a terminal 14 from the open end 24 of the insulation housing 12 second path 22 of an insulation terminal 10 via a crimp ferrule 16. The end portion of a wire insulation portion stops just before the shoulder 46 of the crimp ferrule 16. The crimp portion 30 and the ferrule 16 of the terminal 14 can be crimped with the insulation wire by single crimp operation, and thereby the crimp portion is fixed to or crimped with the exposed end portion of the wire insulated conductor, and the ferrule 16 is fixed to or crimped with the insulation portion adjacent to the exposed insulated conductor for releasing terminating distortion. In order to contain a complementary flat counter-terminal, the contact portion of the terminal 14 is formed as a receptacle having a flange 32 bending along both edge portions of a plane portion 28.
