To find out a compound which promotes insulin secretion from a pancreas β-cell and to provide a preventing and/or therapeutic agent for a disease resulting from hyperglycemia, for example diabetes.
The insulin secretion promoter makes N,N'-bis[5-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-4-pentenyl]homopiperazine or the acid addition salts thereof or these solvates as an active ingredient.
