Abstract:
To precisely detect the intake air flow by a method of controlling the intake air flow by varying the operating characteristic of an intake valve.
Values detected by various sensors are read (S1), the flow loss coefficient Cd, the average effective opening area A and the upstream pressure P0 of the valve are calculated in order based on the operating characteristic of the intake valve (S2, 3 and 4), and the cylinder intake air quantity (Qa/Ne) is calculated based on the calculated values.
