PURPOSE: To obtain an intake system having a compact constitution and improve the fuel distribution performance to each cylinder by arranging a multiple injection hole fuel injection at the center part between the upstream edge parts where independent intake passages are collected and allowing each injection hole to communicate independently to each independent intake passage.
CONSTITUTION: An upstream intake pipe 11 of an intake manifold 10 has a collection part 16 for four independent intake passages 15 which are arranged in proximity, having the section in a square arrangement, at the downstream edge of a common intake passage 14. A multiple injection hole fuel injector 17 having four injection holes 18 in a cylinder part 12a having a center partitioning wall between the upstream edge parts of four independent intake passages 15 is arranged in an intermediate intake pipe 12, having the injection hole 18 toward the downstream side. Each injection hole 18 is installed so as to communicate to each independent intake passage 15 through four communication holes 19 which are radially formed independently toward the aslant downstream side at the downstream edge of a cylinder part 12a. Accordingly, fuel can be distributed uniformly in the intake passage 15, and the faculty of an engine is improved.
