This intake device for an internal combustion engine is provided with a valve housing 10 formed of a resin material for constituting an intake passage 10a, a valve shaft 20 supported in the valve housing 10 freely rotationally, a valve element 30 fixed to the valve shaft 20 for varying an opening area of the intake passage 10a, and an energizing spring 40 energizing the valve shaft 20 in the rotation direction. The valve housing 10 is provided with an outer circumference wall part 11 having a predetermined thickness and forming the intake passage 10a and bearing parts 12a and 12b supporting both ends of the valve shaft 20 freely rotationally. In at least one bearing part 12a among the bearing parts 12a and 12b, a seat part 13 guiding the energizing spring 40 is formed integrally while spaced from the outer circumference wall part 11 at a predetermined interval W.
