To provide an intake device with an intake control valve, having improved intake air filling efficiency.
A compressor 218 as part of a turbocharger is installed in an intake pipe 204, and an intercooler 221 is arranged on the downstream side thereof for cooling intake air. On the downstream side of the intercooler 221, a surge tank 205 is installed via an upstream side duct 204c. On the downstream side thereof, it is communicated with a communication passage 206 which is communicated with cylinders via a downstream side duct 204d. An impulse valve 224 is installed in the communication passage 206 for actualizing inertia turbocharging with the opening/closing operation thereof and the pulse wave reversing operation of the surge tank 205. In this case, since the surge tank 205 is located on the downstream side of the intercooler 221, good inertia turbocharging effects are produced. The cross section of the upstream side duct 204c is larger than the cross section of the downstream side duct 204d.
