Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of control circuits and to reduce the load applied to a CPU, by controlling all of the intake and exhaust valves of a multiplicity of cylinders by adding subsidary control circuits to main control circuits serving as a control means for one cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An intake valve control circuit 3 and an exhaust valve control circuit 4 are separated into main control circuits 9, 11 for a first cylinder and subsidiary control circuits 10, 12 for a second to the last cylinders, and control signals for controlling the intake and exhaust valves of the second to the last cylinders are produced by the subsidiary control circuits from turning-angle signals and opening/closing signals of first counter circuits 13, 20 of main control circuits 9, 11. A CPU29 is required only to control opening and closing of an intake valve and an exhaust valve of the first cylinder since the intake valves and exhaust valves of the second to the last cylinders are opened and closed in the manner of following opening and closing of the intake and exhaust valves of the first cylinder. Therefore, it is enabled to reduce the load applied to the CPU, to control operation of a multiplicity of cylinders by the software for controlling one cylinder and to simplify the structure of control circuits since the software can be used commonly.
