Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake passage flow control device capable of restricting eddy flow caused by tumble flow during a compression stroke, promoting an increasing in temperature of a cylinder-in gas during a compression stroke by controlling a flow of intake gas flowing at the intake passage and sufficiently vaporizing fuel injected during a compression stroke and improving a combustion stability.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an intake passage flow control device for an engine for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber (16) during an intake stroke and/or a compression stroke in response to an operating region of an engine (1) so as to control a flow of intake mixture gas flowing at the intake passage having a curved part (18b). The intake passage flow control device comprises a plasma actuator (30) for generating gas flow in the intake passage in a direction where a flow speed difference between the intake gas flowing along a wall surface outside the curved part and the intake gas flowing along the wall surface inside the curved part is made low; and a PCM (46) for operating the plasma actuator when an operating region of the engine is an operating region where the fuel injection is carried out during the compression stroke.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
