Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake system for internal combustion engine that can perform optimum control over an intake flow control valve and also can minimize a decrease in inertia supercharging effect at any opening of the intake flow control valve.SOLUTION: An intake device 90 includes: a valve body 31 which is provided rotatably to an intake passage 20a of an engine 100, and controls an intake flow; an accommodation part 25 which is provided to the intake passage 20a and accommodates a main valve part 31c of the valve body 31; an opening part 23a of an EGR introduction path 23 which is provided to the accommodation part 25 and into which an exhaust gas to be recirculated is introduced; and a groove part 35 which is provided on a lower surface 31e of the main valve part 31c, and also connected to the opening 23a of the accommodation part 25 to form the exhaust gas passage of a space with the accommodation part 25. The groove part 35 of the main valve part 31c is so shaped that minimum sectional area S of the exhaust gas passage varied with the opening of the valve body 31, and the groove part 35 is varied in at least one of its groove depth D and groove width W so that the minimum sectional area S of the exhaust gas passage varies with the opening of the valve body 31.
