PURPOSE: To provide an integrated circuit which ensures safety against the wrong use.

CONSTITUTION: A program memory 12, a programmable non-volatile memory 16, an input/output port 18, and a register RS where signals of abnormal state detectors C1 to C4 are stored, are provided. A microprocessor is provided, too. The register can be accessed by the microprocessor. A means which confirms the state or the register just before the write or erase operation to the programmable memory and just before transfer of data from the input/ output sate to the outside and a means which interrupts the function of the microprocessor at the time of detecting an abnormal state by this confirmation are provided.
