Abstract:
PURPOSE: To execute various DSP algorithms maintaining complete general purpose processor capability by providing shared internal memory that is freely accessed by both a digital signal processor(DSP) and a general purpose processor on an integrated processor platform. CONSTITUTION: An integrated processor platform 14 of a data processing system 10 at the time of a facsimile machine that has an analog front end 12 is provided with a DSP module 16 and a general purpose processor module 18 and the module 18 controls the module 16. The modules 16 and 18 are provided with shared internal memory that is freely accessed by both processors, data processing in response to a read operand based on an access of the internal memory is carried out, other algorithm processing is performed with the complete capability of the general purpose processor maintained and various DSP algorithms can be carried out.
