To provide a flexible image display work station suitable for mounting on a mechanical structure operatable relating to a direction and a height by controlling many displays and function symbols by a stylus and a conductive surface.
The conductive surface 5 is positioned below an operation surface 2 and functions as a user interface to this work station 1. The displays 6-8 are mounted below the surface of the conductive surface 5 inside an upper console housing 3 and they are preferably video display monitors on the market. Then, various functions relating to permanent function symbols 9 are started by turning the stylus 5A to the conductive surface 5 at the respective positions of the specified function symbols. Thus, the stylus 5A and the conductive surface 5 are control input devices for the function symbols 9. In this case, the function symbols 9 are permanently attached to the conductive surface 5 by a silk screen method for instance.
