Title:
INTEGRATED TYPE LIGHT FREQUENCY CONVERTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3496053
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated type light frequency converting device which has improved response time when a high-frequency signal is turned on and off and modulated since the distance between a filter and a modulator can be shortened, specially, by size reduction as a light frequency converting device adopting multiplication modulation capable of easily obtaining a high-order sideband wave even with a small-amplitude high-frequency electric signal.
SOLUTION: This device has constitution for introducing laser beam into a sort of optical resonator and modulating the light repeatedly while it travels forward and backward to obtain high-order sideband waves and a band-pass filter which selects a desired sideband wave and obtains light of frequency having a difference in frequency which is an integral multiple of a modulated signal; and a means which modulates the light, a means which selects a specific sideband wave from a group of many sideband waves, and a reflecting means for light are integrated and formed on a continuous substrate to obtain the light frequency converting device which is small-sized and has a high response speed.
