Title:
INTER-STATION LINE SELECTING SYSTEM IN PACKET SWITCHING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03112238
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To distribute a load on each inter-station line uniformly when a bypass transmission line is set and to transmit a series of packets with the same number on the same link by providing a bypass index selection table, etc.

CONSTITUTION: Packet terminals T11, T12 are housed in a packet switching machine (station) P1, and packet terminals T21, T22 in a packet switching machine(station) P2. When the bypass transmission line which transmits a reception packet on a bypass route is selected, the bypass index selection table 60 is retrieved by using the identification number CIDX of the reception packet. Next, by retrieving a line selection table from a bypass index stored in a retrieved address, a first bypass transmission line for the reception packet is selected. When transmission on the first bypass transmission line is disabled due to a fault, etc., a second bypass transmission line is selected by retrieving the line selection table with the value of a bypass index hunt counter. Thereby, the load on each line is distributed uniformly, and also, the same line is selected at every link, then the transmission is performed.
