The warning device is equipped with an inter-vehicle distance sensor 10 measuring an inter-vehicle distance to a preceding vehicle, a vehicle speed sensor 12 measuring the running speed of your own vehicle, a judging part 18 which computes a target inter-vehicle distance Kx in response to the vehicle speed date 12b of your own vehicle, and concurrently judges the degree of danger for an inter-vehicle distance data based on the aforesaid target inter- vehicle distance Kx, and with a warning generating part 20 providing a warning in response to data 18c for the degree of danger judged by the judging part 18. Furthermore, the judging part 18 is also provided with a brain wave measuring part 14 measuring the brain wave of a driver, and with a wave form analyzing part 16 which analyzes the forecasted response time of the driver based on the brain wave data measured by the brain wave measuring part 14. And moreover, the judging part 18 is also provided with a correction means which corrects the target inter-vehicle distance Kx based on a forecasted response time data 16d analyzed by the wave form analyzing part 16.
