PURPOSE: To eliminate need of exchanging a submarine electrode by laying the submarine electrode for intercepting swimming of fishes and shellfishes in the seabottom therein, providing a counter electrode forming a pair with the submarine electrode in a position at a sufficient distance above the submarine electrode and connecting the submarine electrode to a negative pole of a DC power source and the counter electrode to a positive pole thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A submarine electrode 6 for intercepting swimming of fishes and shellfishes 4 in the seabottom 1 is laid therein and a counter electrode 7 forming a pair with the submarine electrode 6 is installed in a position at a sufficient distance above the submarine electrode 6. The submarine electrode 6 is connected to a negative pole of a DC power source and the counter electrode 7 is connected to a positive pole of the DC power source. As a result, a swimming intercepting barrier for the fishes and shellfishes is locally formed only near the submarine electrode 6 and the fishes and shellfishes in the seabottom 1 are intercepted without applying electrical stimulation to fishes and shellfishes living in areas other than the seabottom 1 and adversely affecting them. Furthermore, exchange of the submarine electrode 6 of the negative pole is not required without causing electrolytic elution thereof. The counter electrode 7 of the positive pole may be exchanged with easy exchange operation.
