Title:
INTERCOOLING METHOD OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04132820
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To upturn the energy efficiency, improve a drop pollution causing and the lightweightiness of car body and so on, thereby making it conductive to improvement in fuel consumption by setting up a sensor in the combustion part of a cylinder, and only when exceeding the setting temperature, adding a proper amount of water to an inner part of the cylinder and cooling the inside directly. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor is attached to a combustion chamber in a cylinder or a spot standing for its temperature, thereby setting two points, an optimum temperature T1 and another one T2 higher about 50 deg.C than the former there. Operation and stoppage are repeated according to on-off motion of an electric circuit, and during the operation, such a quantity measuring pump as capable of pouring a specified small amount of water into the cylinder is utilized. When the cylinder is overheated and it has comes to the temperature T2, pump capacity is redoubled by an electric signal generated, or another quantity measuring pump is operated otherwise. Thus, efficiency is heightened and any possible occurrence of knocking and NOX is eliminated and, what is more, the lightweightiness of a car body is promoted in this way.
