Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface connector capable of achieving both the appearance mounted on electronic equipment and solder bondability to a printed-circuit board.SOLUTION: A connector 10 comprises a first housing 1, a plurality of first contacts 3, and a first rectangular tube-like shell 5. The connector 10 can be mounted on a surface of a printed circuit board 9p. In the first housing 1, a first header portion 11 and a first frame portion 12 are integrally molded. A plurality of first contacts 3 are arranged in parallel on one surface of the first header portion 11. The first shell 5 is installed so as to cover an outer surface of the first housing 1. The first shell 5 also includes a good soldering layer formed on an inner surface and an outer surface thereof, a pair of first engaging pieces 55-55 solder-bonded to the printed circuit board 9p, and a first rectangular opening 50 surrounded exposing a plate thickness surface 50a. The plate thickness surface 50a is included in the inner surface. The inner surface includes the plate thickness surface 50a. The plate thickness surface 50a of the first opening 50 is blackened by irradiating it with a laser L.
