Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce various costs regarding the interface device by comparing input signals from a connection line with a reference value and judging their characteristics, and specifying the kinds of input signals and determining operation modes.
SOLUTION: A clock extraction part 11 compares a signal inputted from an optical line 3 with its own reference clock for speed determination and informs a main control part 13 of the result as an element (a). Similarly, a light level detection part 12 compares its light level with a reference level and informs the main control part 13 of the result as an element (b). The main control part 13 specifies the kind of interface for the optical line 3 from those two elements (a) and (b) and informs a data processing part 14 of a setting indication matching the specified kind. The data processing part 14 processes inputted data according to the instruction and passes the data to the inside of an ATM device 2.
