This device is provided with a tag reader 18, a decoder 34 for identifying an encoded resource address 38 loaded by a tag 28 and an access means for accessing the identified resource. Information, loaded from the accessed information resource, is displayed on display means 14, 22, 24 and 48. In the interface method, print RF tag technology is used and the Internet, an internet or an extranet resource using a URL as an address is used as an information resource. The disclosed device is executed as a furniture item, and specifically executed as tables 10 and 52. When an item 26 with a tag is set up on a support surface 14, the tag reader 18 reads out the tag 28 and displays the read tag 28 on the support surface 14. For example a product, its package, ticket, token, letter, or information sheet may be used as the item 26 with the tag 28.
