PURPOSE: To secure the control for the input/output interface without installing any control exclusive memory or the like, by providing four types of the function block and the common function block to the LSI-formed input/output interface and then selecting one type of the function block via the function code.
CONSTITUTION: The following blocks are provided to LSI-formed input/output interface 300: common block 1 which can perform the common function to each CPU100 and each input/output apparatus 200; block 3 to transfer the serial data and control apparatus 200; and block 4 to tranfer the parallel data and control apparatus 200. In addition, block 5 is installed to control the auxiliary memory unit, along with block 6 to control apparatus 200 which cannot be controlled with blocks 3W5. Then the control signal applied to control line 8 is decoded by function decoder 2 to select one of blocks 3W6 featuring the different control functions.
