To provide an interior lighting system capable of appropriately illuminating an interior according to a difference in habitability to be required depending on a seat.
When a drive-first mode or relax mode is selected by manipulating a mode selection switch, a driver seat 3 and passenger seat 5 are illuminated with light of white or a cool color that brings about a tension, and seats 7, 9, and 11 on the second row and third row are illuminated with light of a warm color that gives relaxation. In the drive-first mode, the luminance of illumination light for the forward seats (driver seat 3 and passenger seat 5) is raised. In the relax mode, the luminance of the illumination light for the backward seat (seat 11 on the third row) is lowered. Therefore, an interior can be appropriately illuminated according to a difference in habitability to be required between the driver seat 3 and passenger seat 5 and the seats 7, 9, and 11 on the second row and third row.
