PURPOSE: To obtain the subject interlayer high in adhesivity to glass by extrusion molding of a blend of a specific ethylene/α-olefin copolymer, an organic peroxide and a specified polyfunctional monomer.
CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a polymerization is conducted using a tetravalent transition metal-contg. metallocene compound as catalyst to produce an ethylene/α- olefin copolymer having the following characteristics: density 0.860-0.950g/cm3; the difference between 10wt.% elution temperature and 100wt.% elution temperature determined by cross fractionation: 530°C; the ratio of weight-average molecular weight/number-average molecular weight: 1.5-3.5; the difference between the melting peak temperature and the whole crystal melting completion temperature determined by differential scanning calorimetry: ≤20°C. Next, 100 pts.wt. of this copolymer, ca. 0.01-5pts.wt. of an organic peroxide, and ca. 0.1-5 pts.wt. of at leas t one kind of polyfunctional monomer selected from (meth)acrylic esters each having two or more (meth)acryloyl groups, triallyl isocyanurate, and esters of allyl alcohol and aromatic polycarboxylic acids, are kneaded and extruded, thus the objective interlayer for laminated glass is obtained.
