PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of driving device by driving the moving footsteps linking with a flexible link connection mechanism through racks and pinions so as to allow to change the speed of running of the footsteps.
CONSTITUTION: Racks 39 are attached to a flexible link connection mechanism 34, pinions 40 to gear with the racks 39 are provided rotatable, and footstep guide rails 36 are provided to form a low speed area and a high speed area while guiding the flexible link connection mechanism 34. As a result, the moving footsteps 33 and the moving handrails 42 can be transferred while the moving footsteps 33 and the moving handrails 42 are synchronized so as to regulate the low speed area, a speed change area, and the high speed area freely. Consequently, the structure can be simplified.
