Title:
INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEDIUM AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3869967
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation in the resistance of an intermediate transfer medium during the life thereof and to obtain image which are extremely little in splashing in spite of repetitive use by having at least either of a nitric acid ion adsorption material and a compound having a laminar structure on the surface of the intermediate transfer medium.
SOLUTION: The surface of the intermediate transfer medium has at least either of the nitric acid ion adsorption material and the compound having the laminar structure. When the nitric acid ion adsorption material is subjected to a surface treatment, such as a hydrophobing treatment, the electric resistance value of the nitric acid ion adsorption material itself is hardly affected by humidity and the degradation in the electric resistance value of the intermediate transfer medium in a highly moist environment may be sufficiently prevented. Further, the compound (laminar compound) having the laminar structure captures nitric acid ions between the layers, thereby preventing the degradation in the resistance of the intermediate transfer medium. The examples of such laminar compound include kaolin, mica, etc. More preferable examples are specific hydrotalcite compounds.
