Abstract:

To obtain an intermittent charging method and an intermittent charging circuit for a secondary battery by which the full-charging is surely detected in the charging period of the intermittent charging.

In the intermittent charging circuit, a signal from a charging capacity detection circuit 2 turns on a charging control switch 5, a signal from a charging stop detection circuit 41 turns off the charging control switch 5, the charging is started if it is detected by the charging capacity detection circuit 2 that the charging capacity of a battery assembly 1 in an open circuit state is lowered to a certain value by self-discharging and the charging is stopped if the full-charging of the battery assembly 1 is detected by the charging stop detection circuit 41. For that purpose, the charging stop detection circuit 41 stops charging, when the voltage of the battery assembly 1 in a charging state is lowered to a certain voltage (Vp-ΔV) after it has reached a maximum value Vp, while a charging current is applied to the battery assembly 1.
