Abstract:
To provide an internal combustion engine with an auxiliary combustion chamber, which ensures supply of a fuel into the auxiliary combustion chamber while suppressing cost.SOLUTION: An auxiliary combustion chamber 25 is exposed to a main combustion chamber 6 and has an inside, to which electrodes 27, 28 of an ignition plug 26 are exposed, and a hollow dome part 25a is formed with a plurality of injection holes 33. An auxiliary injector 34 is disposed at a lower part of a cylinder head 3 across an intake port 8, which injects a fuel toward the auxiliary combustion chamber 25 via an outlet portion of the intake port 8. The auxiliary injector 34 is not exposed to the auxiliary combustion chamber 25 and to the main combustion chamber 6, and therefore, an inexpensive injector can be used. Accordingly, cost can be suppressed. It is preferable to perform a fuel injection by the auxiliary injector 34 at the time when a piston lies in the vicinity of a bottom dead center and a flow of intake air almost stops.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
