This internal combustion engine 1 is an internal combustion engine using liquid fuel FL and gas fuel F. A gas assist injection valve 2 injecting fuel to a suction port 4 of the internal combustion engine 1 injects air A or liquid fuel FL together with liquid fuel FL to atomize liquid fuel FL. An assist gas selecting means 50 selects gas fuel FG or air A and supplies the same to the gas assist injection valve 2 based on intake gas pressure Pi of the internal combustion engine 1 measured by an intake air pressure sensor 45.
