Abstract:
To provide a controller of an internal combustion engine capable of determining occurrence of preignition, using a crank angle jerk that has a strong correlation with a heat generation rate, which has a correlation with the occurrence of preignition.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine control device 50 calculates, based on an output signal of a crank angle sensor 11, a crank angular jerk δd, which is a time rate of change of a crank angular acceleration αd; calculates, based on the crank angle jerk δd, an evaluation value Ye for determining the occurrence of preignition; and determines, based on the evaluation value Ye, whether or not preignition has occurred.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
