To provide a technology for stabilizing combustion when returning to ordinary fuel injection control from fuel cut control, in an internal combustion engine having an EGR device.
This control device includes the EGR device for making a part of exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine flow in an intake system of the internal combustion engine as EGR gas, a fuel injection means for injecting and supplying fuel into the internal combustion engine, a fuel cut control means for performing the fuel cut control for stopping fuel injection by the fuel injection means, and a fuel atomization promoting means for promoting atomization of the fuel injected by the fuel injection means when returning to the ordinary fuel injection control from the fuel cut control.
