Abstract:
A transient internal EGR volume estimating means (51) outputs an internal EGR volume estimated value by considering the actual valve overlap amount during transient operation. A transient external EGR volume estimating means (52) outputs an external EGR volume estimated value during transient operation from the opening of an exhaust gas circulation valve (47). An in-pipe temperature estimating means (55) finds an estimated in-pipe temperature from both of the values. A compression ratio correcting means (56) compares a static in-pipe reference temperature that presumes an internal EGR volume and an external EGR volume during static operation to an estimated in-pipe temperature estimated during transient operation, and if the estimated in-pipe temperature is higher than the reference temperature, a compression ratio target value based on static operation is corrected to the low compression ratio side, and if the estimated in-pipe temperature is lower than the reference temperature, the same is corrected to the high compression ratio side.
