Abstract:
To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine enabling an air-fuel mixture having an intended air-fuel ratio to be present in the vicinity of an ignition plug at ignition timing.SOLUTION: A control device (40) is applied to an internal combustion engine (10) having a fuel injection valve (21) for directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber (23), and divides fuel injection in one combustion cycle into intake stroke injection and compression stroke injection to execute the fuel injection. The control device includes: a flow estimation section (41) for estimating strength of fluid flow in the combustion chamber in a compression stroke; and an adjustment section (42) for adjusting penetration force of a fuel jet in the compression stroke on the basis of the strength of the fluid flow estimated by the flow estimation section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
