Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue introducing EGR gas while preventing cracking of an exhaust sensor by water.SOLUTION: An engine control system comprises: an engine 10; and an EGR device 35 returning part of exhaust gas from the engine 10 to an intake passage via an EGR pipe 36. An exhaust sensor 18 that includes a heater 19 heating sensor elements and detects exhaust gas components is provided in the intake passage. A microcomputer 51 of an ECU 50 determines whether an internal state is a predetermined water presence state in which the generation of condensate water is predicted in the intake passage and restricts electric power supplied to the heater 19 if determining that the internal state is the predetermined water presence state.
