Abstract:

To perform exhaust gas supply (EGR) appropriately supplying exhaust gas to an intake system according to demand output to an engine.

When engine demand power Pe* is less than a lower limit power P with which the engine can be satisfactorily operated while performing EGR (step S110), or when change quantity dPe of the demand power is less than a value 0 and intake air quantity of the engine tends to reduce and misfire may occurs in the engine 22 if EGR is performed (step S120, S130), target exhaust gas supply rate EGR* is set to value 0 (step S160), and the engine is controlled to output the demand power Pe* without performing EGR (step S150). Consequently, EGR can be appropriately performed according to the demand power Pe* and the change quantity dPe* of the demand power.
