Title:
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE EQUIPPED WITH VARIABLE COMPRESSION RATIO MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006105095
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To more quickly obtain appropriate valve timing in an internal combustion engine changing compression ratio by changing relative distance between a cylinder head and a piston on a top dead center.

In the internal combustion engine equipped with the variable compression ratio mechanism, valve timing corrected when the internal combustion engine has predetermined compression ratio is stored as a learning value, and the learning value is changed by slippage quantity at a time when valve timing of at least any of driving valve of a suction valve or an exhaust valve relatively slips off of a predetermined timing when the piston stays at a predetermined position. Since slippage of valve timing accompanying compression ratio change is corrected beforehand, appropriate valve timing can be obtained quickly.
