To provide an ignition timing control device for an internal combustion engine for adequately controlling ignition timings without requiring a number of adaptable processes.
The ignition timing control device for the internal combustion engine comprises an operated condition detecting means 51 for detecting the operated condition of the internal combustion engine, ignition delay detecting means for detecting ignition delays of cylinder gas in accordance with the operated condition detected by the operated condition detecting means, a knock occurrence index calculating means 53 for calculating a knock occurrence index as an index of knock occurrence in accordance with the ignition delays detected by the ignition delay detecting means, and knock critical ignition timing calculating means 54-55 for calculating critical ignition timings when no knock occurs in accordance with the knock occurrence index calculated by the knock occurrence index calculating means.
