To enable an intake air temperature to be appropriately controlled in accordance with an atmospheric temperature.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an intake air temperature of an internal combustion engine 1 is for the internal combustion engine 1 provided with an intercooler 13 which: performs heat exchange between intake air of the internal combustion engine 1 and cooling water distributed respectively in 2 cooling water circuit systems 100A and 101A including first cooling water circuit 100A having the internal combustion engine 1; and has a first heat exchange section 13a. The method for controlling the intake air temperature of the internal combustion engine includes operation to change a flow rate of first cooling water distributed in the first heat exchange section 13a in accordance with an atmospheric temperature Tamb.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
