Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction device for an internal combustion engine capable of adjusting a strength of a tumble eddy current by distributing sucked air into a suction passage that is divided into a main passage and a sub passage, in further compact valve structure.SOLUTION: In a suction device for an internal combustion engine, a suction passage 80 is configured by connecting an inlet pipe 6 to a suction port 42, the suction passage is partitioned by being divided into a sub passage 80B configured to generate a tumble eddy current T and a main passage 80A excluding the sub passage by a partition plate part 81, and a throttle body 7 which includes a suction path 70 that is continued to the suction passage and in which throttle valves 71 and 171 are provided is connected at an upstream side of the inlet pipe. The throttle valve includes first valves 71A and 171A and second valves 71B and 171B that are pivoted by a throttle valve shaft 71a which is oriented vertically to a flow direction of the suction path, in a freely rotatable manner within the suction path and are rotated integrally. The first valves are configured to suppress the flow of sucked air into the main passage during full closing and gradual opening of the throttle valve, and the second valves are disposed at a sub passage side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
